The new product is the first in Toshiba’s new U-MOS X-H Series of MOSFET with a trench structure, and is fabricated with the company’s latest[1] generation process. Mounted on a low-resistance TO-220SM(W) package, it delivers industry-leading low On-resistance[2], with a maximum On-resistance of 1.92mΩ, an approximate 20% reduction against the current “TK160F10N1L.” This advance helps to reduce equipment power consumption. KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 -- Milrem Robotics has unveiled its mission proven, fifth generation THeMIS UGV, assisting soldiers on the battlefield and enhancing combat effectiveness.
According to a statement by the unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) manufacturer, the vehicle has been introduced at the Singapore Airshow 2020.
The tracked multipurpose UGV can be equipped with remote weapon systems, tethered drones, C-IED solutions and ISR sensors.
With the possibility to mount various payloads, the UGV acts as a force multiplier.
The fifth generation THeMIS incorporates NATO STANAG standards in the vehicle’s architecture, safety, air transportability, power offload and other aspects.

Toshiba unveils low power, high resolution micro-stepping motor driver IC
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6 -- With the launch of ‘TC78H670FTG’, Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (Toshiba) has added the latest line-up to its micro-stepping motor driver ICs.
According to a statement by Toshiba, the new IC has a maximum rating of 18V/2.0A and can drive motors with a wide range of operating voltages.
The new IC, whose mass production starts today, can drive a 128 micro-stepping motor with a power supply ranging from 2.5V to 16V.
Its wide range of applications includes USB-powered, battery-powered and standard 9-12V system devices. It can also be used with a 1.8V interface, allowing connection to various hosts and microcontrollers.
The IC is housed in a compact QFN16 package and eliminates use of a current sense resistor by incorporating a current detection part that contributes to lower cost, smaller component footprint and PCB routing space savings.
The device can be used for applications including cameras, security cameras, portable printers, handheld scanners, pico-projectors and smartphones.

March 31 sees Black Hat Asia 2020 returning to Singapore
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 4 -- Black Hat has announced Briefings highlights for its upcoming Black Hat Asia event, taking place from March 31 to April 3 at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Taconic Biosciences unveils immuno-oncology mouse model
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 3 -- Taconic Biosciences, a global leader in providing drug discovery animal model solutions has launched a new B2m-NOG mouse model, expanding its premier immuno-oncology portfolio.
The portfolio is built on the CIEA NOG mouse®, a severely immunodeficient mouse with diverse applications based on its improved ability to engraft human cells and tissues.
According to a statement, B2m-NOG significantly extends the study window after human peripheral blood mononuclear (PBMC) cell engraftment, providing more time to assess reactions to target drugs.
The extended study window dramatically expands immuno-oncology study types that can be run using the B2m-NOG model compared with more expensive and time-consuming options, such as hematopoietic stem cell-engrafted models.
