Cloudflare expands access to Zero Trust platform

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- Cloudflare Inc, the security, performance, and reliability company announced that both its Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) services are now generally available as part of Cloudflare’s Zero Trust platform.

VYTELLE EXPANDS GLOBAL NETWORK OF BOVINE IN VITRO FERTILISATION LABORATORIES WITH OPENING IN HAMILTON, NEW ZEALAND

HAMILTON, New Zealand, Sept 15 (Bernama-GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Vytelle is progressing on a five-year plan, initiated at the conclusion of their Series A funding to provide accessible hormone-free bovine in vitro fertilisation (IVF) to producers across the globe. Part of the five-year plan, included doubling the laboratory capacity to produce bovine embryos through in vitro fertilisation. Announced today, Vytelle’s opening a laboratory in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Vytelle's integrated technology platform combines Vytelle ADVANCE, a breakthrough in vitro fertilisation technology, with Vytelle SENSE, an animal performance data capture system, and Vytelle INSIGHT, an artificial intelligence-based genetic analytics engine. The platform provides progressive cattle producers the technology to make reliable data-driven mating decisions that improve the predictability of genetic progress replicating the right genetics faster.

The New Zealand-based laboratory will utilise Vytelle’s modern hormone-free in vitro fertilisation process including their proprietary media – developed in-house – that results in high-quality embryos for producers to implant fresh or frozen into recipient cows.

“New Zealand livestock producers can rely on hormone-free IVF technology to replicate the genetics from their elite donors faster than traditional methods we’ve been accustomed to using,” explained Andrew Donoghue, Regional Manager for Australia and New Zealand for Vytelle. He continued, “Since Vytelle produces the media used to culture the oocytes into embryos, producers can be assured embryos are produced consistently with rigid quality standards.”

New Zealand livestock producers can take advantage of the hormone-free IVF process today by scheduling an on-farm ovum pick-up. Qualified donors can be open, 15 days post-calving, or up to approximately 100 days pregnant. Heifers as young as 6 months of age are also eligible.

The Vytelle process is the most accessible, reliable, and predictable IVF process available. Livestock producers can follow the steps below to begin hormone-free IVF.

Organisations in S'pore, Malaysia involve senior management in cybersecurity decision-making -- ISG report

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- Enterprises in Singapore and Malaysia have grown so concerned about the dangers of cyberattacks that they are changing the way they make security-related decisions and procure cybersecurity services, according to a new research report published by Information Services Group (ISG).

The 2022 ISG Provider Lens™ Cybersecurity — Solutions and Services report for Singapore and Malaysia finds organisations in both countries are starting to include senior management in decision-making about cybersecurity strategies and products.

They are also spending more on cloud-based, end-to-end security solutions as cloud migration accelerates across the region, according to a statement.

Companies in the region are developing more mature cybersecurity strategies due to a growing awareness of cyberattacks, which are increasing in both countries, and the introduction of tighter regulations and legislation, ISG says.

As they store more mission-critical resources in the cloud, enterprises also recognise that the number of access points they need to defend is growing exponentially.

Following disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Singaporean and Malaysian enterprises ramped up digital transformation strategies to leverage the cloud, enable remote work and tightly control costs, the report says.

This has driven up demand for cybersecurity services, but enterprises have their own ideas about how they want to consume them. They are seeking less complex purchase options and want to pay for services and platforms as an operational expense.

The report explores trends and best practices in the region for several areas of cybersecurity technology, including identity and access management tools, data loss prevention systems, and advanced endpoint protection.

Toshiba expands line-up of smart gate driver photocouplers

Toshiba: a 2.5A output smart gate driver photocoupler "TLP5222" that has a built-in automatic recovery function from protective operation. (Graphic: Business Wire)

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (Toshiba) has expanded its line-up of smart gate driver photocouplers, the isolated gate driver with overcurrent protection for a power device, either a MOSFET or IGBT.

According to a statement, the new device, ‘TLP5222’,  a 2.5A output smart gate driver photocoupler, has a built-in automatic recovery function from protective operation.

TLP5222 constantly monitors the drain-source voltage (VDS) or collector-emitter voltage (VCE) of the power device that it drives.

Built-in overcurrent detection and a protective function detect any rise in VDS or VCE, the result of overcurrent generated in the power device, and gently turn it off.

Housed in an SO16L package that ensures creepage and clearance distances of 8mm (min), TLP5222 can also be used in equipment requiring high insulation performance.

In addition, with its wide rated operating temperature range of between -40°C and 110°C, it is suitable for various applications in harsh thermal environments such as photovoltaic power generation systems and uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs).

The line-up also includes TLP5212, TLP5214A and TLP5214, which do not have a built-in automatic recovery function but reset to their normal operation by a signal input to their LED, allowing users to select the right products for use conditions.

Toshiba, a leading supplier of advanced semiconductor and storage solutions, draws on over half a century of experience and innovation to offer customers and business partners outstanding discrete semiconductors, system LSIs and HDD products.

Digital verification investment to exceed US$20 bln globally in 2027 - Juniper Research

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 (Bernama) -- Spending on digital identity verification checks will reach US$20.8 billion globally in 2027, up from US$11.6 billion in 2022, according to a Juniper Research study. (US$1 = RM4.483)

This growth will be driven by the increasing prevalence of digital services requiring digital onboarding journeys, and the growing requirement for more advanced and robust identity verification systems in the face of rising fraud, the study said.

According to a statement, digital identity verification is where identity is checked using digitally verifiable elements, such as selfie scans, address checks and knowledge-based authentication.

Research co-author Damla Sat said there are multiple pathways to identity verification success, adding that while there are many different segments and verification types, “no single vendor cover all the solutions.”

“As such, there is still a lot of room for innovation; vendors must focus on building innovation partnerships and acquisitions that allow them to intelligently orchestrate the most effective verification types for each use case to drive growth forward.”

The research assessed leading digital identity verification vendors and evaluated each company based on criteria such as depth and breadth of offerings, service innovation and future market prospects.

It ranked the top three vendors as Microsoft, Thales, and LexisNexis Risk Solutions.

The research found that each of these vendors is taking advantage of the requirements for digital onboarding, plus providing advanced anti-fraud capabilities.
